See a reenactment or visit a famous battlefield. Take a tour of the homes of
Thomas Jefferson, Woodrow Wilson, James Monroe or even George Washington. If your thing is natural wonders visit Natural Bridge or
Luray Caverns. For those of you that prefer the arts we have that as well. Make the short jaunt to Ash Lawn and spend the evening at an English opera, or enjoying the musical theater. Other local live theater includes
UVA Drama Department, UVA Summer Series and
Live Arts. Local museums and galleries abound, including Bayly Art Museum at UVA and McGuffey Art Center. If you are a musical buff, there are many venues that offer live music of all varieties. Friday's After Five is a summer tradition, offering food and live music on
Charlottesville's historic downtown mall.
With the University of Virginia campus right here in Charlottesville your educational needs are easily met. The UVA Medical Center teaching hospital has the latest technology available. If you prefer the home town atmosphere of a community hospital, there are three other hospitals in the area - Martha Jefferson Hospital, Augusta Medical Center and Rockingham Medical Center. In addition, Charlottesville is fast becoming a magnet for technology and research companies.
